February 21.

no more snow: a sun came out so strong but that is reflected on roads coated with snow and gives the campus an intense, almost blinding. I see some students wearing dark glasses, and I think mine, abandoned on a shelf in my room, by - I believe - in September.

Sigh. I hope the cold give me respite before: yesterday I felt the chilling (In the true sense of the word) the experience of hearing the ears and nose hurt for a prinicipio hibernation - I and my sock idea of seeing the eclipse of the Moon ..

My students were good as usual - lesson fun, we laughed a lot and discussed comparisons and preferences, given the ease of comparative Italian, we dwelt unlikely to invent adjectives to create funny comparisons, and 48 minutes are incredible pace.
At 11.30, History of Witchcraft: nice lesson on the debates about the validity or otherwise of the evidence of witchcraft in the process (my two hours of sleep contributed to the low level of attention), and then ... Then I arrived four ancient volumes, editions of 1456 onwards: the cureatore the library showed them carefully, and you could touch them, examine them and turn the pages. Excited and frightened as a virgin to the first experience of love, I put my hands on a "Malleus Maleficarum" of 500 and I checked the notes bell'inchiostro old, the opening words, the header, the writing dense and incomprehensible ... God, I think I could live by analyzing ancient texts! At 2:30
lecture on Petrarch and Boccaccio, there is an air of preparation for the show tomorrow - instead of mid-term exam, we do a show in which we recite several poems taken from Petrarch's Canzoniere in front of a large audience - and a kind of expectation that makes discussions about female characters of the seventh day of the Decameron very lively! After the 'Porcellato' bawdy, I relax in the office and take an hour lesson in cinema - today we talk about the second "Golden Age" of Hollywood as the '70s.

What's in the 70s??
What masterpiece was created in 1977??

STAR WARS!

The teacher said proudly that he still has the Leia doll with 'donuts on the ears'! I almost moved - all know Star Wars in the States, is beautiful: ')
After class, I met Nathan by Wendy - we dealt with the subjunctive, and we have come out unscathed, which is commendable (I have seen many brave men fall under the blows Hound of the subjunctive). After a quick coffee at Buckeye Donuts - probably the most characteristic of all local Columbus - Nathan took me home. Some may find it strange that the guy that do 'reps take me home ... but not if you consider that in the meantime ...

I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT'S snowing AGAIN!

He started to snow heavily. All
again white, and compact - and freezing cold.
have a nerve!

Now, an episode of CSI NY - I developed an insane passion for the Mac, Stella &
company ... Then a little 'Manzoni hated reading and napping - I hope I can sleep.

A dock at Grappa, I know it's somewhere and purrs =)
A big hug to all friends and friends - including mom and dad!

Is Sticky Mucus Normal.before Menstration

... I can not believe it's snowing again!

My first thought this' today was in English.
I woke up, brain off.
I looked out the window, the brain is on to make a few, angry words: "I can not believe it's freaking snowing again! ".

What happens if I write a post happily climate almost spring?
Start over to snow, of course.
This morning I gave him a good morning to Columbus already white with snow, and continued flocking to all the day - we are about 8 cm on earth - relentlessly. Towards evening he stopped, but the damage is done, we are again under a white blanket of ice, and does a polar cold.
You can imagine my mood.

grumbling, I wore pants, sweater, jacket and gloves and scarf I started in the office - today's lesson was quite boring, the differences between know and know they will never receive a large successful in the attention. In addition, the flakes malignant distracted students every 5 minutes, without quite irritating. Besides, I was without coffee.

After the lesson, lost any ambition to go out, I pitched tents in the office and tried to read the paperwork for my essay on historical memory in Petrarch - the boredom I won quickly, so I checked the mail. ... and the Internet, more insidious evil of flakes, wrapped me in his pitch: I spent my time watching sites, YouTube etc ...
At 2, his senses from my surfing hysterical, I prepared an even more tedious on lezioen Pellico - if My Prisons is boring, I am seriously worried about next week - The Betrothed in sight, the beast of soporific Manzoni .. sigh. Fortunately we
eighth week, two more and finished the Winter Quarter!
Then a week's vacation to regain his strength (the famous Spring Break when everyone runs to Florida or the Caribbean and when I will study and prepare lessons for the next quarter =.=) and again until June. Survive?
Negative points for the day: the photocopier was not working as usual, I am angry and I hit her with his hand - I've got a nerve and times I can barely move my hand =.=
Obviously the copier bastard laughs mockingly and none of it working.

After the lesson, a short pause, and then Salsa Rueda - pleasant, challenging, helps me to send away the stresses of the day. Today the practice has been particularly intense, and I'm tired a lot. At 9 am we finished and went to eat a good pasta with Kazu Mitsui, mate and salsa - parapappapaaaaĆ ! - Japanese doc! Mitsui-san has kindly offered to be my partner conversion, so we spoke half English half Japanese, to my great shame, because my Japanese is worth the time = (
But I will talk to him very well, and I must admit to being very excited to be able to talk a bit ' Japanese with a native speaker: I would like to overcome those - many - blocks I have in conversing in this language so difficult.

Back home, I watched the lunar eclipse for a while, 'and then CSI - now I'm chatting with Jon, thinking of what to do tomorrow and trying to read what I have read today - but the bed is very inviting, it's midnight and I'm afraid my will will sell very quickly to fatigue.
very quiet day today, with few commitments - what I call a "lazy day", although many people would not be so lazy ... =) Long day tomorrow instead of tutoring lessons and I'll be up to 10>. <

Hopefully it does not snow ...
Stay tuned! =) I miss Verona

Healing Time After Cervical Polyp Removal

A beautiful, beautiful day:) A busy

temperature
A beautiful, almost spring.
Wind incredible, almost too much, but nice on the face after the lash of the intense cold.
clear sky, with clouds passing Fast: one thing I noticed is that the Ohio sky the clouds are very quick.
will be the strong wind, but I see them running incredibly fast in the sky.
I see a plane go to heaven - nostalgia.

I would really go home to hug friends and parents to stay a bit 'and then come back here, recharged.
Every time I come it's like taking a big breath of fresh air and then thrown back nell'apnea commitments and stress that are for me the United States.

I wake up late, at 12.44, and smile in the bed's Sunday, I can take it slowly.
Calmly, I get up, I call the real estate company and make an appointment for 3.
Send a message to Helena for her to know the organization and then I start the computer to check email and surf a bit 'on the internet: chat with Jon - my friend -, but a few nice bars, and then I start reading My of Prisons Pellico. All
'one and a half I decided to take a shower, then I take the test online movies, and get ready to 2.30 are at the bus stop.
The wind is not from 'truce today, so I stop and let him shelter tousled hair - I know I'll cry tonight in the brush.

At 3, Helena and I are real estate office, we visit a nice apartment and telling us that we can have that same space when we move on May 15! We decide to sign without hesitation, and we have another nice surprise: a $ 100 rebate on rent each month! Incredulous, back to the house chatting about how to decorate our little corner of paradise, and I decide to stop at Giant Eagle, well stocked supermarket near our new home. I buy lots of fruit and vegetables, some snacks, orange juice and apple - my obsession here in the States - and then spaghetti and pesto: I decide to try to cook in the kitchen public the dormitory, a paste should be relatively easy ..
I decide to take a coffee at the Starbucks inside the store, then go back and get home all'autobs: I have time to put away the shopping and Tessa arrives. Together we go to the home of Joyce, to translate the dialect into Italian and English poetry: in theory, a journal of Italian studies could publish this small business. The best part of the evening, however, is the excellent meal prepared by Joyce: pasta, good meat, vegetables and fruits, all very delicious.
Come back, chat with Tessa, really nice girl and nice: we talk about projects and get together for coffee.
Once arrived at the dorm, I meet Chris, met a guy recently - in California and very nice - and I am to know a shy Korean girl and help with a German 'exuberant girl in love with New York, Carolina.

At midnight I decided to go in the room: name is Zac, I chat a bit 'with Jon - Employment relaxing and pleasant - and I receive the visit of Mael who shows me his brand new electric guitar.
Then I decided to write a little 'this Sunday's very special is the fact that in May I'm going to live in a lovely house, will be the fact that I have seen many people, the temperature will be very idyllic ... I feel really good.

I miss my country, my parents, but now my mood it was dark.
I think the spring and summer will be here in beautiful Columbus =)

(if you do not go and study again, now, sarebe even better!> _ <)

Stay tuned!

St. Valentine Fever

February 14, Thursday.
nice day, I start with him waking up later and take it easy - I already said that I love teaching and 10:30? Lesson
, calm and relaxed: students attentive and involved, I decided to reward them. I take the laptop, and I let them listen to "the most beautiful thing" by Eros Ramazzotti - I see them smiling and slightly embarrassed by the slight embarrassment that comes from the comparison with an unexpected situation. I am pleased
found the reading a little and go on Petrarch's sonnet ..

Capei were the golden aura around
that 'n the avvolgea thousand sweet knots,
and' the faint light burned beyond measure
of those beautiful eyes, which now they are so scarce, and

'the merciful face of color do,
do not know if true or false, I think:
the' loving the bait had breast, what wonder if
immediately burned?

It was the passing her mortal thing,
but of angelic form, and the words sounded more
that although the human voice;

a celestial spirit a living sun
was what I saw, and if not or that,

wound to loosen arc not healthy.

I see them amazed by the unfolding of the lecture, I explain to them the difference between "I love you" and "I love you" close the book and invite them to follow suit and begin to ask their plans for the evening ("They know the verbs? "-" Yes, I have taught them to him two days ago "-" Well, let's proceed "). We chat for a few minutes and then introduce the vocabulary related to the family. I know I have made them happy, including a lesson in physics and engineering - and I am happy.
I realize that my teaching improved in proportion to the value that I give to my kids: This class is awake, active, interesting - worth a lot.

After class I go back in the office and I find flowers waiting for me - and a host of colleagues to the hysterical sights.
With caution, I open the note that accompanies the beautiful bouquet and I see a signature - "Bed Buddy." While my colleagues speculate on a probable manic, I decided to respect the mystery of the little Valentine's Day. I go to class "history of witchcraft" and I fell asleep several times - to stay the night would help in this regard. Then run to receipt by Professor Webb, PhD and talk and opportunity: my possible future take shape in the words of the teacher, who introduced me several top universities listed "- I continue to love Yale, the only sound to vibrate something in me .
do not have time for lunch - and we are on the usual, I have to get used to the idea of American breakfast 'rich' if you want to get up at night ..
The afternoon begins with a lesson on Canzoniere and the Decameron, I'm starting to appreciate very much: I decided to write my paper on Petrarch and literary memory, good Francis has gained my interest (not Prezzemolina was for Dante, it would be even better> <) and harmoniously with his tongue the metric strict ad nauseum. I admire the efforts of a man who expresses his existential pain in sonnets and songs of heroic verse. O_o

conclude the daylight hours with the lesson of cinema - the French avant-garde, Vivre sa vie Godard Jean : the film is clever and well shot, with particular emphasis on the sound element, with which the director plays and interacts with the public. The teacher explained the rule of "180 degrees" and the "fourth wall". I take notes - I have recently converted to electronic notes, save time and trees ... and help my typing speed.
lessons finished for the day: I am going to meet the guy that reps do, and I remember thinking.
Bed Buddy .
look behind his back, nervously. I then to my office - Nathan is there, we talk about Italian grammar, and we decide to go to Subway (I admit to being hungry). What more romantic place for Valentine's Day?
cleared the doubts of Nathan, I start at home - are in pieces, as usual, but satisfied. As usual. In
cross the threshold of sad dormitory that serves as base of operations at the time of meeting Mike and Mael - Mike's birthday. I promise to get the two at the bar and I'm sad I go back in the room: I need a shower, but I have no time. I wash my clothes quickly and trembling - the window open, fuck.
Cursing my poor organization of time, I hasten to reach Mike and Mael to Larry's Bar: a beer, chat with a couple of people with cevrello, a beautiful evening.

not sleep at night - I can not.

Recent news: I saw the apartment where I live in Helena, is a small corner of paradisoe conditions seem good - there are a large supermarket and many nice places all around - I like it!
I'm thinking about how to organize the new course that will teach in the spring.
I met a girl who lives in Venice, Canton, OH - see you Friday.
I watched ' Knocked up' tonight - I want a child I watched too O_o
'Some like it hot' - Marilyn Monroe is buttery and irresistible, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon hilarious. Billy Wilder's direction is flawless and very enjoyable - the movie is a splendid mix of gangster movies and comendy sentimental, with many ingenious and find a sense of humor is hard to find nowadays.

"I am a man!"
"No one is perfect"
- priceless.

In closing: I decided to continue studying Japanese, I will do Individualized instruction and seek to profit from it =)

Stay tuned!

There Will Be Blood

Friday':" There Will Be Blood. "

******* Spoiler Warning! *******

"I have a competition in me. I want no one else to Succeed. I hate most people." Daniel Plainview

and Anderson's film 'a masterpiece of sound: even if all appearance is very nice, are the sounds that emerge - the sounds, not the soundtrack that is rather quite limited - and that arise as a driving force of history. The entire film seems shot with an extreme respect for what 'we perceive with our ears more' than with the eyes, and he and 'clear as the entire opening sequence, where the total absence of dialogue or voice-over narrations stresses and enhances the loneliness of the protagonist. Of particular effect, and 'establishing shot at the beginning of the film, where a powerful sound and impressive, almost annoying, defines the image of barren mountains and indifferent to the efforts of Daniel: indifferent to what it' then the same player on the fate of all those found his way. Deaf to the feelings and affection, Daniel Plainview is a lifeline in HW, which will take a cruel law of retaliation 'if metaphorically about' the weight of the dry 'adoptive father's emotional and lose' hearing; the director and 'painfully good at making the plight of HW with subjective sequences, mute and disconsolate.
"There Will Be Blood 'and' a work of epic scope and a touching personal story at the same time: the magnificent scenery and endless, the theme this much of the 'American Dream' makes this film a metaphor for the race to succeed without scruples, who sacrifices everything and everyone in the name of money and power, but the emotional tone and sometimes heartbreaking the film suggesting a gently private, the inner drama of the protagonist that draws the most 'points to Charles F. Kane by Orson Welles. Daniel Plainview and 'but' far from friendly ways of Kane: and 'rough, grumpy and stressed several times his total indifference to the rest of the world, and his hatred of anyone who stands in his way. L 'on, dramatic rivalry' with Eli Sunday, the pastor of the 'Church of the Third Revelation', is the clash of ambition and lust for power and spirituality ', the feelings that define the human being; clash and 'intended to end in bloodshed, as the title promises. Anderson, however, 'not content with a single reading of the human soul and enrich his work with ambiguity 'and various interpretations, blurring the outlines of the sharp dichotomy' good-bad 'and proposing a banquet shepherd of his mission on earth to the point of being obsessed and fundamentally weak, far from the role of solid moral support that the film seems to suggest the beginning, Paul Dano - in the double role of Paul and Eli Sunday - and 'masterful in making the frustration and determinzaione of the one true antagonist of Plainview, and the final confrontation between the two and' a scene of rare power, both for images for quality 'of acting.
The movie 'then the story of a man who refuses all human contact for closing in on a' golden cage ', made of money, loneliness and suspicion. Daniel Day-Lewis, with an interpretation from Oscar, makes the full drama of Daniel Plainview, his ambivalence towards the feelings that always ends in excess: excess of love for HW, which eventually abandon him ', and excess of hatred towards the rest of the world. There 's always a desperate need for answers, certainty and security in the actions of Daniel, and this desperation drives all his choices, which will bring more and more' distant from people, until you get to the extreme, murder and abandonment. Negative character, dark, cruel and ruthless anti-hero, Daniel exudes pear 'incredible charm, challenges the viewer a certain respect for his stubborn adherence to ideals, but perhaps wrong for him deep and very strong.
"There Will Be Blood 'and' the story of a man imprisoned his dream of greatness, and his inability 'to wake up and see beyond the material dimension of reality': a complex and ambitious, offering various interpretations and breathtaking performances, an orchestra of sounds and images impeccably directed by Paul Thomas Anderson that leaves the viewer a hint of nostalgia for the slow pace and solemn that characterizes it and regret that so much is the movie a few years ago.

SI ', and I' loved it =) One of the biggest missing
'large version that will come out 'in Italy soon, in my opinion will be' the distinctive voice and charismatic Day-Lewis, who will go 'to lose with the dubbing = (

Today in cinema lesson I have also seen Kurosawa's Rashomon, which deserves a separate review.

Coming soon ^ _ ^
